While we were up Table Mountain,
the clouds obstructed most of the view. This is facing away from the
coast, and the clouds were swirling about the valley. |
| The clouds cleared as soon as
we entered the cable car to journey back to the lower station. It
is a very dramatic escarpment. |

The Victoria and Albert Waterfront
is the toursit zone on Cape Town. Full of restaurants and shops, with
a big lean toward the visitor. Curio shops are in abundance. To
a Sydney-sider, it is a large version of Darling Harbour. |
| Robben Island is accessed via
ferry from the Waterfront. Once on the island you are taken for a
tour around the now closed jail for political prisoners, and a drive around
the island to prisoner work sites and view points. |

Lamberts Bay. Moonrise
at dusk. Our first campsite, our first night on the truck, and the
coldest night of the trip! |
| Peguins at Lamberts Bay. There
are a few penguins, seals, cormorants, and a whole LOT of gannets. |

|
One of the thousands of gannets
at the Lamberts Bay colony. Very elegant birdies! |
