Day 13 Dwellingup to Swamp Oak |
Follow the waugals south through the town past the primary school to get back on the Bibbulmun Track. It's a short undulating walk, which is ideal after a rest day. Pine plantations and valley views evident as well as attractive jarrah and marri forest. A pleasant and stimulating walk with Swamp Oak Hut situated in an ideal "location, location". |

![]() Left Dwellingup at 10:30, bid my farewells to Tony, Wendy, Karen and Brent. Knee feels better although still a niggle. Last night a storm went through town dumping 20mm of rain. Poor kids camping from Rossmoyne High School got flooded out. Today's walk, however, was mainly fine with cloudy periods. Pleasant walk through lovely forest areas although evidence of severe logging in one section of hills and valleys. Arrived at hut at 2pm and am sharing the campsite with 40 others!!! 30 from Ocean Ridge High School and 10 police cadets. Told jokes around the campfire and played harmonica. Should be an interesting night's sleep with full hut. A resident kookaburra keeps a watchful eye on proceedings. ![]() |
